2019

In Boston Public Schools’ efforts to create transparency throughout the public school system we built an interactive tool that visualizes the annual Boston public school budget and how it’s dispersed through the public school system. The various views within this tool visualize what departments receive funds, how much of the budget reaches schools specifically and how the student funds breakdown within those specific schools. This data visualization experience empowers parents, school principals, district advocates and stakeholders to follow the money and inform themselves about the Boston public school system budget breakdown for every budget cycle.
